Cream always goes well with a dark and bold taste

I must confess, I've never had egg nog in my life. Awhile back, I once asked someone what's in egg nog and it just disgusted me to think that someone would drink egg whites and cream. Fast forward to 22 years of age, and I'm a bit more open minded to trying new things.

Today, 11/29/2010, I became very curious to buy my own 1.75 liter of Pennsylvania Dutch Egg Nog. So curious, that I bought it and wanted to try it as soon as possible but it's frowned upon to be drinking on the job so I put the bottle in my car.

6 hours later, I'm in my kitchen pouring myself a small amount (roughly 3 ounces) into a glass. The first thing I noticed was the strong taste of whiskey, rum, and brandy, backed with a very creamy and sweet taste. So far, it's OK but I would like to to be on ice. But that's not the only thing that would improve my experience with Egg Nog.

In my mini refrigerator, I have Riverhorse Oatmeal Milk Stout. It's a combination of a sweet stout with oatmeal stout that makes it a sweet tasting and smooth body stout. GREAT STOUT! I thought to myself, roughly 3 ounces of Egg Nog and pour to the top of the glass (8oz) with this sweet stout will make an excellent concoction. My goodness, I'm right!

The blend of these two beverages creates a dark, creamy, and sweet drink that is so smooth that you will be wanting more. Think of a creamy chocolate milk with a kick of alcohol and that's what I'm drinking.

Word of advice: When pouring the stout into the Egg Nog, the drink will rise with foam so pour with caution.
